Oak Canyon

I frequently tramped eight or ten miles ... to keep an appointment with a beech-tree, or a yellow birch, or an old acquaintance among the pines.

I have to admit I have a thing for trees!
I'm drawn to them and feel serene among them. I enjoy looking at the shape of the branches and notice the color of the bark and how the leaves move in the wind. Follow along with me and I'll show you what I saw there in the canyon~

Trees are your best antiques.

There is always music amongst the trees in the Garden,
but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it.

And this, our life, exempt from public haunt,
finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.
William Shakespeare

My Girl Scout Troop had their
Brownie bridging here. See the ducks in the water? I'd love to have a picnic tea near this stream so we could hear the water gurgle and laugh.

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanates from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.
Robert Louis Stevenson

Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.

The Golden Moon

K&Co hydrangea tag, Glimmer mist, punch, Kathy Davis paper, kraft card, Tim Holtz clock die cut

Whoever thinks of going to bed before
twelve o'clock is a scoundrel.
Samuel Johnson

Oh my goodness, it's June! Did anyone see the 'golden moon' tonight when it first began to rise? Handyman and I heard on the news today that there was supposed to be a golden colored moon this evening.

Look how the pale queen of the silent night
Doth cause the ocean to attend upon her....
Charles Best

Sure enough, when we were out running an errand around 8:30 p.m., we looked into the sky and saw an enormous golden colored full moon. It was gorgeous!

Moon hangs, almost full
pieces of cloud scatter,
glide in soft, summer breeze.
We lay in our meadow
listening to the sound of night....
~Daniel James Burt

I've been enjoying mornings without an alarm clock these past two weeks...which inevitably leads me to stay up far too late at night. I like the quiet and the calm of late night and I end up doing 'one more thing' before heading to bed and next thing I know it's 2:30 a.m.

Thank Heaven, the sun has gone in, and I don't have to go out and enjoy it.
Logan P. Smith

College Girl and I watched a television show about searching for Bigfoot and got a big kick out of it. That's my excuse for staying up late tonight- haha. I've made several cards lately for upcoming birthdays and still need to get my Father's Day card ready for Handyman. I need to get going!
