“Stands the Church clock at ten to three?
And is there honey still for tea?”
Rupert Brooke
Honey is healthy and delicious- a great addition to your diet (but not for children under 12 months old). I've read about the wonderful benefits of eating honey and was surprised to learn it can help facilitate a good night's sleep, among other things. I look for raw honey when shopping.

I found this brand at TJMaxx. It's my favorite! |
Raw honey is the unpasteurized version
of more commonly used honey but with
added filtration, which mainly helps
extend shelf life.
A lot of honey found in the supermarket is not raw honey but "commercial" regular honey, some of which has been pasteurized (heated at 70 degrees Celsius or more, followed by rapid cooling) for easy filtering and bottling so that it looks cleaner and smoother, more appealing on the shelf.
“Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then
he had to stop and think. Because although
eating Honey was a very good thing to do,
there was a moment just before you began to
eat it which was better than when you were,
but he didn't know what it was called.”
Did you know...
Some seasonal allergy sufferers have found relief from their allergies in raw honey. Raw honey exposes consumers to traces of the pollen that would otherwise cause allergy flareups with exposure, desensitizing them to these effects. The North Dallas Honey Company says a daily tablespoon of honey can actually act like an allergy shot
Raw honey naturally contains B vitamins (stress relievers) and a teaspoon or two helps with indigestion! I really like the taste of the raw honey compared to the kind in the little bear squeeze bottle.
"We ought to do good to others as simply
a horse runs or a bee makes honey,
or a vine bears grapes season after season without thinking of the grapes it has borne."
Marcus Aurelius

LOVE raw honey - we get ours from the Amish Market and I use it almost exclusively in my baking. The gritty texture in my mouth is fun. My mom always got local honey for my dad's allergies. I just started taking bee pollen - learning about the health benefits there. Enjoy you cuppa this Pink Saturday!

I love honey, but have not found you recommend. Will look far it more tho. When growing up, we had our own bee hives and had the real stuff.
