Caught in the act!
This 'wascally' Desert Cottontail regularly visits our backyard. We've become quite fond of him and call him Bunny Bun...seriously, we call out "Bunny Bun" and oftentimes he will appear, climb through our back fence and hop onto the lawn ready for some apple peelings or a carrot.
See the mesh behind the wrought iron fence? Part of the reason we put that up was to keep rabbits out. But Bunny Bun started visiting our yard as a baby and could squeeze right through.
College Girl saw him touring the patio and peeking into the potted plants and herbs yesterday. Upon discovering the Italian Parsley he promptly decided to climb up the pot. Notice in the photo above the naked parsley stems, sans leaves?!
After his lunchtime salad, Bunny Bun is ready for a little 'shut eye' near the bee skep. Sweet dreams, cotton tail!
Good Afternoon to you, Well, how wonderful to meet Bunny Bun, he certainly looks very content in your flower pot. He has his very own self service restaurant, full of the goodies he loves.
ReplyDeleteBless his heart.

Oh bless your heart.
ReplyDeleteIf my husband saw a bunny-bun in our parsley he would get our his gun, seriously.
I love your bu nny feels so comfy and safe at your home that he can "chillax" right there on your sidewalk - our bunnies are scared to death around here.
Doesn't stop them from eating anything they want, but they must fear it while doing so.
Your daughter got some GREAT pics!!
Wonderful photos. Fun 'Tale' too. He is a cutie, and I'll bet his breath is fresh. Haven't seen hide nor 'hare' of ours since early spring. The Magpies by our deck have chicks, but we can't see them, only hear them. Last night we did have Elk in our field and we have a plethera of hornets, some huge black jackets.
ReplyDeleteThat is to cute. It is amazing how tame he seems to be. My Choc lab is not fond of the bunnies in our yard. I usually give the bunnies a warning and running chance to get away. Love the pics...you captured your story perfectly. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteFun sunny photos!
ReplyDeleteWe actually have had bunnies-such whimsical, playful, intriguing little creatures they are-you have certainly captured all of this with your photos of Bunny Bun! (what a cute name too.)Darling little tale as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday,
Jemma
Aw, that's sweet that you enjoy him instead of trying to chase him off. He's just as cute as he can be.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! First, I love the alliteration in your title. Second, this is so cute! I'm glad you were able to snap photo evidence of "Bunny Bun" in action! Hope he enjoyed his hard-won parsley!
ReplyDeleteI just can't help but like rabbits~we had several as pets when the girls were little.
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing?
Bunny Bun is adorable, even if he/she does eat up your parsley. I especially loved the pic of him standing up at the flower pot and taking a rest by the bee skep after his wonderful repast. And I thought that my plants were safe when I put them into big flower pots.
