Rose Cottage~

I discovered this cup on eBay years ago when eBay was new and most people were trying it out for the first time and having fun bidding. In all the shops I've visited and all the teacups I'd seen, I had not seen one quite like this and decided to bid!
Isn't it charming? I bid and won! It came with a matching creamer and has the prettiest garden scene on it. And to top it off, it has the sweetest cottage in the background.
With everything in the yard blooming at this peak of summer, I thought it was the perfect cup for my breakfast today.

The bottom says Bell China, England and it is called Rose Cottage.

Dainty blossoms line the inner rim of the teacup~ sweet!

Don't you just want to don your wide brimmed hat and take the path up to the cottage door? I'll meet you there!

The handles on the cup and creamer are embellished with gold~

With today shaping up to be a bit warm and humid, I decided on a toasted multigrain flax English Muffin and some ruby grapefruit with my morning tea~ I have several sets of tea themed placemats...go figure! I especially like this one with a yellow background and a variety of teacups on it.

Oh, there are errands and chores to do but I will slip off to my ScrapRoom and make a quick greeting card for another tea lover.

The little pocket on the front holds a teabag and has a friendship quote on it. I used my Martha Stewart punch and pink ink on the edges. The tea scene is adhered with foam dots so it is raised from the surface, and to finish it off I tied a pink plastic spoon to the front!
Happy August, tea friends~

  1. Hi,

It looks like we have several things in common - tea and card making :-) Your Rose Cottage teacup by Bell is gorgeous! Perfect for the summer and a wonderful find on eBay. Love your teabag pocket card. I think I might have to try one of these. Thank you for the inspiration.

  5. Mmmm! Lovely breakfast tea with such bright and cheerful settings! The cottage tea set reminds me of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit. Perhaps the MacGregor's lived in Rose Cottage. Great find - and on ebay - a place I have yet to venture for fear. I'm just not sure I'd be able to keep up with the bidding thing - and end up being bid beyond budget - and winning! Ya! Playing things close to the vest til I have a signed contract for this coming school year. Part of the fear factor at present.

Hoping to have some time to create in my new studio section of the office. Got the supplies - just need to make the time . . .

    Joy!

  8. Hello Mi...

What a charming, dainty set...I do like the scene very much, and yes, the cottage looks so inviting that I am drawn to walk along that path with all the lovely flowers in bloom. And O, how nice to have the creamer, too!

Your card is a delight! Receiving a handmade item is a happy thing.

    Peace,

  9. Hello
I can imagine your happiness when you won the auction with this lovely set. It looks really cute. As Kathryn Ross said, I thought in the first moment, it is a Beatix Potter design. Thank you for sharing your tea set and the card is just wonderful, too.
    Best greetings, Johanna
