College Girl put together a basket of 'happies' for me for Mother's Day. This is the first year she has selected something for me completely without any input or help from Dad. She shopped for each item at different places, then presented it to me in a lovely cellophane wrapped basket along with a handmade card. Let's see, there was a candle, nail polish, Sticky Fingers Raspberry Scone Mix, a TJMaxx gift card, scrapbook stickers, some hot chocolate mix and a jar of Devon Clotted Cream. We talked about Poppies being the California state flower a week or so before Mother's Day, and guess what? She included a packet of seeds for a variety of Poppy I had never seen! They are in a pot of soil right now, and I check in on them every day to see if any sprouts are appearing yet.
I baked up the scones for breakfast, and the Devonshire Cream was heavenly. My special girl sure knows how to spoil me~
What a beautiful, sweet and thoughtful daughter :) Looks like she put a lot of thought into your beautiful basket of goodies!
ReplyDeleteIsn't wonderful when our kids finally say "hey mom, I see you and I know who you are"? She did a wonderful job of picking up things that she "knew" her mom would love!
ReplyDeleteMy older kids are usually right on the money with gifts I would love and my youngest who is still a young teen and still has that "it's all about me" attitude is showing signs of cracking...starting to see and appreciate those around her.
You did a wonderful job raising her and this is just one of many ways she will, for the rest of her life, show you how much she appreciates you!
