Did you know ?

Today is May 4th, also called "Star Wars Day". Can you guess why? This day is considered a holiday by Star Wars fans as a day to celebrate the movies and culture. And the proper salutation for this day is, "May the 4th be with you!"...lol :)

Notice the lack of photos in this post? Just wanted to share something I recently found out. Guess I should have known before, but when I started my blog I had to wing it and create it without tech help, and it was all so new to me! Blogger allows you to use 1GB of storage for all the photos you post to your Blog. I was using photos stored on my pc, and had no idea that when you post a photo to your Blog, it also goes into a Picasa album. You may use photos of a certain pixel size that will NOT count toward your total. However, if the file size for the photo is larger than this prescribed size, the photo goes into the Picasa album and counts against your total. Now, here is the bad news...once you have photos in your album that reach the 1GB total, you either have to pay for more Picasa storage or resize all future photos before posting. See here:

Picasa Web Albums stores all photos uploaded to Blogger (including custom domains). A few things to know:
  • Each blog that includes photos will have a corresponding Picasa Web album (with the same name) for those photos. The album cover in Picasa Web will be designated with a small orange Blogger icon.
  • Blogger album visibility are automatically set to 'Limited, anyone with the link.'
  • All photos posted to Blogger are included in the 1GB of free storage allotted to Picasa Web Albums. Files under certain sizes don't count towards this limit.
  • When you delete photos from your Blogger album in Picasa Web Albums, the photo will also be deleted from your blog. Likewise, if you delete a photo from Blogger it will be deleted from Picasa Web Albums

  1. Yes - this happened to me a few months ago, Shawn. I remembered Kathy at Delightsome Life mentioning it once and emailed her for help. She directed me to just go ahead and buy the space - $5 worth. She did that a couple of years ago and hasn't had a problem since - and she posts lots pf photos. Guess it just comes with the bag. Hope you get your space - I want to see your pictures!!!

    Joy!
