I had a little tea party
This afternoon at three.
'Twas very small-
Three guest in all-
Just I, myself and me.
Myself ate all the sandwiches,
While I drank up the tea;
'Twas also I who ate the pie
And passed the cake to me.

'Twas very small-
Three guest in all-
Just I, myself and me.
Myself ate all the sandwiches,
While I drank up the tea;
'Twas also I who ate the pie
And passed the cake to me.

Some people will tell you there is a great deal of poetry and fine sentiment in a chest of tea.

I shouldn't think even millionaires could eat anything nicer than new bread and real butter and honey for tea.

Cute quotes. I have a set of Noritake china. I believe it's called Shenandoah. I believe there is nothing more relaxing than moments alone with a hot cup of tea. Deb
ReplyDeleteOh how delightful- an adorable poem - which helps us understand we are never really quite truly alone, are we????
ReplyDeleteAnd what a lovely Noritake tea cup! My FIL lived in Japan at one time as a visiting Engineer......and was given a private tour of Noritake...he never forgot how hospitable they were to him, showing him all their pride.....and just before he died he gave me one of the teacups he bought that day. I cherish it very much.
Have a wonderful day!! Thanks for visiting!

Beautiful vintage Noritake! I love those colors. The shape is fab and those colors are really "in" right now. The first poem is a cutie! I have tea for "three" often! Lol!

My mother's china was Noritake. Everytime I see pretty Noritake, I think of her. Nice post!
ReplyDeleteI love the little wispy ferns in the bottom of the cup. I'm hopping over from Teacup Tuesday to leave some hugs on your lovely blog.
