Whoo Loves Pink?
Handyman scouts out new housing developments in our area so we can visit the model homes. We love taking a camera along to remember some of the clever details and wonderful designer touches they always feature. I am inspired by picture and furniture arrangements and he enjoys seeing the way the backyards are designed. Our latest model home excursion was in Orange County, California, where we looked at detached single family homes as well as some town houses. I got a kick out of this charming child's bedroom...aren't the owls cute? It seems that designers rarely use headboards in the children's bedrooms, and somehow all the furniture fits without looking crowded. That doesn't seem to be realistic, does it? College girl has a dresser, small nightstand and bed in her room and there is no room to spare! Add some personal belongings and the room starts looking messy! Maybe we all just have too much stuff~ lol.
Simple images framed and placed together above the bed~ These could be images your children drew!
I think some dainty white pom-pom trim would look adorable along the bottom of the lamp to match those on the bedspread, don't you? Or use a hole punch like I did here and weave a ribbon through for extra panache.
And look at these two whooty pals! As soon as I saw them I took out my camera and snapped a few photos to share on Pink Saturday~

If it was a girl's bedroom, indeed the pom poms on the lamp. The owls are a novel idea...don't think I've seen a kids room with owls before. That's a great idea to go tour model homes. Clever clogs you! Happy PS. It rained here yesterday (on the start of our lavender festival) but is supposed to be nice today! Happy PS!

The owls are so cute, Shawn, and I think the pom poms would be sweet on the lamp! I love visiting open houses and model homes; lots of scope for imagination there! Thanks for your visit and have a lovely weekend.

I love the Whooty Pals !! AND I think the lamp needs some pom-pom trim too!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your Pink Saturday Post.
What an adorable bedroom. Model homes are so wonderful for ideas. My daughter loves owls and she would love this room. Happy Pink Saturday. ~Marti
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and delightful! Visiting from Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeletePink Slushy Magic, come and see.
SO cute! When I was little, my parents always drove my sister and I around to different model homes for fun. We'd fight over who was "getting" which room. Thanks for stopping by my blog too!
ReplyDeleteThey are sooooo sweet!
ReplyDeleteToo cute, too sweet :))) The pom-poms on the bedspread are to die for!
ReplyDeleteShawn, this room is darling and I love the owls! My 6 yr. old granddaughter has an owl theme in her room. I am going to make her an owl for her October birthday. I also am appliqueing a branch and owl on a baby quilt for a new grandson which is (if everything goes right) going to be born Fri. the 27th of July. His nursery is woodland themed. I will be doing a post showing the tree I painted on the nursery wall. I agree that the lamp could be dolled up just a bit more, but the room really is sweet. Thanks for sharing it with Share Your Cup.
